Malta transforms itself into an open air music festival
Besides the sound of the sea, the fireworks and the football cheers and chants, Malta transforms itself into an open air music festival in summer, packed with events to tantalise all the senses. Apart from the regular boat parties, sunset DJ sessions, open air clubs as well as village festas and local music events, here are some of the highlights on the music scene this summer:
17-19/07/14 The Malta Jazz Festival
This is one of the most-awaited musical events in Malta’s artistic calendar. Taking place in the open-air setting of Ta’ Liesse – where the Valletta’s bastion walls meet the Grand Harbour- contemporary music comes together with a sense of history, setting the backdrop for high-calibre performances which delight jazz aficionados and lay persons alike.
18/07/14 Joseph Calleja Annual Concert
The internationally-acclaimed Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja returns to Malta for his annual concert, this time inviting guest artists Leona Lewis and Claudio Baglioni accompanied by the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra. The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra can also play exclusively for your private event, an impressive and elegant form of entertainment for a gala dinner.
26/07/14 DJ Afrojack live in Malta
The global superstar DJ Afrojack whose single Ten Feet Tall has topped 15 million views, is back live in Malta on the 26th July at MFCC Open Air grounds.
09/08/14 The Prodigy Concert
Cult band The Prodigy are performing their second concert in Malta. Set up in 1990, The Prodigy’s unique sound pioneered the dance genre of the big beat electronic sound, selling millions of albums and forever securing their contribution to dance music. VIP tickets and areas can be arranged for this event.
