International Congress in Malta
The January kick-off meeting was organised under the warm Maltese winter sun. The delegates stayed in the north of the island overlooking one of the most beautiful sandy beaches, where they slept, worked and networked for 3 days.
Two social dinners were organised outside the hotel, highlighting the island’s traditions and history – social events that included many surprises, a lot of fun and memorable moments.
Increase in staff motivation levels
The annual sales kick-off meeting brought together 200 management members from different sectors and regions to set the company targets for the upcoming year. Following the kick-off in Malta, they saw an increase in staff motivation levels. Commenting, the client said that On Site Malta was the best local team they had worked with.
The delegates flew into Malta International Airport from various hubs at different times. Chauffeur-driven transfers were organised for them and hostesses greeted them at the airport. Following the first official day of the meeting, an informal dinner in Malta’s Medieval City Mdina, was arranged for them.
Set around a local theme with a modern touch, the guests first enjoyed a mini cultural walking tour of the city which ended at the venue inside Mdina’s walls. The colour scheme was red and white, including the traditional checked tablecloths and a photo booth with 2 knights in armour against a red background, which armed with eccentric props, gave a fun twist to the evening.
To contrast with the traditional, the molecular barista created funky drinks using dry ice and unusual textures whilst the guitar and violin duo set the dancing mood for the evening.
James Bond style
The formal awards dinner was held in a limestone quarry which was transformed into an elegant venue for the evening with a local feel to it. Upon arrival, the guests were invited for an aperitif by the waterfall. Instead of waiters walking to them with the welcome drink, they stunned them by abseiling down the quarry serving champagne – James Bond style.
They were then led under the transparent marquee for dinner. Once everyone was seated, musicians dressed as waiters performed a flashmob with acoustic instruments, joined in by 4 top management members.
The awards ceremony for sales personnel took place after dinner and they danced into the early hours of the morning. Due to the event taking place in January, when there is a realistic possibility of rain, an intricate back-up plan was designed to ensure that guests stayed dry on the way to the dinner venue without losing the beauty of the venue. A covered passageway leading to the marquee was created resulting in a beautifully-lit tunnel. The weather co-operated in the end and it was a perfect evening with the tunnels used only as aesthetic additions.
