A Gastronomic Affair
Financial consultants from various companies and regions in France were invited with their partners to meet in Malta for a cultural, exclusive, gastronomic and luxurious trip.
Maltese cuisine
Maltese cuisine is influenced by Mediterranean, Sicilian and North African flavours reflecting its history over the centuries.
A sophisticated environment
The objective of the trip was to serve as a business exchange platform in a sophisticated environment. The guests only meet a few times a year and this is where most of the important contracts are secured.
A meticulously-created programme
The programme was meticulously-created by their partners in France and the local DMC in Malta, who went very far to formulate a high-level programme and strategically include open networking opportunities throughout.
Exceeding expectations
The trip succeeded in exceeding the well-travelled audience’s expectations and surpassing their anticipated business targets for the financial year.
The clients arrived on an evening flight from Paris where they were invited on to a private terrace on the hotel grounds for a welcome cocktail reception by the water’s edge.
Business meeting
The first day began with a business meeting, whilst the spouses where taken to Gozo on speedboats for a guided tour of the island. They subsequently joined them for an exclusive barbeque lunch in Gozo, just opposite the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino. After lunch, a small fleet of yachts picked the clients up for the sailing regatta to the hotel, whilst some of the ladies opted for an afternoon guided visit of Vittoriosa. Dinner took place at the gastronomic de Mondion restaurant in Mdina, situated in the Relais & Chateaux Palazzino, which was booked entirely for the clients.
Culture, history and art
Day 2 was dedicated to culture, history and art. The transfers to Valletta were done in colourful vintage Maltese buses, whilst the guides shared their passion and knowledge about the vibrant capital. They were surprised by the richly-decorated Manoel Theatre by a soprano who took the stage and sang for them, dined in a typical Valletta townhouse where the finest Maltese cuisine was served and were invited for coffee at the residence of the Marquis De Piro, Knight of the Order of St John.
A private visit
The highlight of the day was a private visit of St. John’s co-cathedral. The most visited site in Malta takes on a whole new aura when it is opened exclusively for 50 persons. The grandeur of the church is amplified and the world-famous Caravaggio painting can be studied up close at leisure.
Malta’s mini-Versailles
An intimate gala dinner was served in the prestigious Palazzo Parisio ballroom, Malta’s mini-Versailles, where after-dinner brandies and cigars carried them into the early hours of the morning.
