Delta Launches Direct Flights Between New York and Malta

New York–Malta Direct Flights Open New Opportunities for US Incentive Groups
Malta has become more accessible to the North American MICE market following the launch of Delta Air Lines’ new nonstop service between New York-JFK and Malta.
Introduced on 7 June 2026, the seasonal route operates three times per week using a Boeing 767-300ER. The new connection represents an important milestone for Malta, creating its first direct scheduled air link with the United States. Condé Nast Traveler
For corporate meeting and incentive planners, direct access significantly simplifies the participant journey. Removing the need for a European connection helps reduce overall travel time, limits the risk of missed connections and delayed luggage, and makes Malta more practical for shorter, high-value incentive programmes.
Once in Malta, groups can combine UNESCO-listed cities, historic private venues, Mediterranean dining and coastal activities within relatively short travelling distances. Programmes can also be extended to Gozo for a contrasting island experience involving traditional villages, countryside adventures and private maritime activities.
The new route strengthens Malta’s position as an alternative Mediterranean destination for US companies seeking a programme that feels distinctive while remaining professionally manageable.
